Bring a Need
If something is not working, is not available, or does not adequately meet the need, start with what you are seeing or experiencing. You do not need to know the solution.
Tell Us What's MissingThe Sentio Foundation
People and communities can face complex challenges for which existing services, resources, technologies, or systems do not provide an adequate answer. The Sentio Foundation exists to help close those gaps.
We advance practical approaches that improve safety, health, accessibility, participation, independence, and quality of life. Depending on the need, that may mean connecting people with resources, strengthening existing efforts, bringing organizations and expertise together, or helping develop new solutions where better ones are needed.
Why Sentio
Sentio begins with what is needed, not with a predetermined answer.
No two people, communities, or circumstances are exactly the same. What first appears to be the problem may be only part of what is happening, and an approach that works in one situation may not work in another.
Understanding can change what is possible. So can experience, new information, changing circumstances, advances in knowledge and technology, or simply seeing something from a different perspective. And when a challenge cannot be fully resolved, meaningful progress can still matter.
What matters is improving quality of life.
Our Work
Sentio's work is not defined by a fixed set of programs. We begin with unmet needs and determine what each requires.
People and families can encounter needs that existing services, resources, technologies, organizations, or systems do not adequately address. Sometimes what is needed already exists but is difficult to find, access, coordinate, or adapt. In other circumstances, a better approach must be developed.
Depending on the need, Sentio's work may involve helping people understand and navigate resources and services, improving access to appropriate support, bringing together relevant knowledge and expertise, advancing assistive or adaptive resources, strengthening living environments, supporting research and learning, or helping develop new approaches where existing ones are not enough.
The need determines the approach, not the other way around.
