Our Work

Practical support. Meaningful change.

We are building services, partnerships, research, and technology around the needs of people, families, and communities.

People & families

Support that works in daily life.

Our work encompasses family and caregiver support, respite, service coordination, education, and practical assistance. The aim is dependable support that helps people participate, exercise choice, and live with greater safety and independence.

We are developing these capabilities with opportunities for collaboration with established nonprofits and service providers.

Living environments

Places designed around the person.

A suitable home depends on the space, the people who share it, the support available, and access to the wider community. We are exploring approaches that bring housing, trained support, communication, transportation, health, and assistive technology together.

The person should not have to fit the home. The home should fit the person.

Knowledge & practice

Connect experience with expertise.

Real needs can reveal better questions for research, education, and professional practice. We are developing opportunities for universities, students, mentors, families, and practitioners to contribute to applied projects and learn across disciplines.

Projects should produce useful work, defined learning outcomes, and evidence that can inform better services.

Technology

Tools that expand what people can do.

Assistive and adaptive technology can support communication, mobility, safety, health, and everyday independence. Our work includes improving access to existing tools and exploring new approaches where current technology falls short.

Practical assistance

Carry complex needs through to action.

A move, a diagnosis, a change in care, or the transition to adulthood can involve many systems at once. The Foundation is developing comprehensive assistance that connects benefits, education, care, housing, transportation, and family support around the person.

The work can take the form of a coordinated plan, prepared documents, an application, correspondence, or continued support through a difficult process. Our goal is to help people accomplish what their circumstances require, with clear sources, appropriate authorization, and attention to what remains unresolved.

Government & community

Decisions that affect everyday life.

Government decisions shape access to care, education, benefits, housing, transportation, and support. The Sentio Foundation connects those decisions to the people and communities they affect.

Our work encompasses changing requirements, access to available support, and meaningful participation in public decisions—including preparing questions, correspondence, public comments, and testimony.

We bring research, practical experience, and evidence of unmet needs to decision-makers to inform improvements to programs, services, and policy. This mission extends across federal, state, territorial, Tribal, and local government. Our focus is practical outcomes and reliable information.

Current stage

Building toward delivery.

The Foundation is developing its services and technology. Public Ask Sentio, online intake, and direct-service enrollment are not available on this website yet. We will publish specific opportunities as they become ready.
